Dunstable Town Mayor, Councillor Liz Jones unveiled a plaque to mark the official opening of Dukeminster Court, a new Care Home for older people in Dunstable on Friday.

The new home is in Dukeminster Road (just off Church Street) and offers care for people with a variety of short and long term care needs.

It has specially designed living spaces for people with dementia, as well as for those with physical disabilities.

It also features a communal plaza area including a Best Friends Café and hairdressing salon which are open to residents, family and friends.

The ceremony was attended by representatives from operators Quantum Care, Central Beds Council, Architects RDT, Constructors ISG and the Development Team, as well as residents, families, staff and friends of the home.

Pupils and staff from Ardley Hill Academy then took part in a time capsule burial ceremony in the garden.

Maria Ball, Chief Executive of Quantum Care said: “We are really pleased to officially open Dukeminster Court and look forward to working in Dunstable to provide a really high standard of accommodation and service for local older people”.
