Long-awaited repair work on a building in Dunstable that was dangerous to the public has been completed.
Scaffolding was erected on 5 High Street South, on the cross roads in Dunstable, while Central Bedfordshire Council traced the owner to make repairs.
After protracted negotiations and legal difficulties, contractors began repair work at the end of May, including rebuilding several parts of the building.
Councillor Nigel Young said: “It has been a real safety issue and eyesore for Dunstable’s residents and we are delighted that our hard work has paid off and the work is over. We’d like to thank the residents and businesses of Dunstable for their support, forbearance and assistance in getting this matter resolved.”
