NEIGHBOURS and businesses are invited to air their views on what should be done to regenerate an area in Dunstable.

As part of Central Beds Council’s commitment to improve and enhance the town, a public forum will be held where people can discuss future developments around Brewer’s Hill Road.

The main areas of Brewer’s Hill Road - which has been underdeveloped for a number of years - that are to be consulted on are the former Trico site, the existing highways depot, the old fire station site and the former gas works site off North Station Way.

Ken Matthews, council member for strategic planning, is hopeful of attracting new investors to Dunstable.

He said: “We want to bring investors in to the area so we can help to make Dunstable thrive and grow as we continue to reach our target of creating 27,000 new jobs by 2026.

“People are being encouraged to come along to the consultation event and have their say on the future of Brewer’s Hill Road.”

Building work could start as early as summer 2012 for the first project, Incuba, which will provide a renewal energy demonstration and training facility funded by Central Beds College and the European Regional Development Fund.

An exhibition will be held on Thursday January 12 between 2pm and 8pm at Dunstable Community Fire Station in Brewer’s Hill Road, where visitors can meet with council representatives and discuss proposals.

For more information about the consultation process, contact Andy Lewis at the council on 0300 300 8000 or visit www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/consultation.
