Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Houghton Regis on Thursday.
The man was walking along Recreation Road at aroudn 4.15pm when he was approached by a large group of men armed with various weapons.
He sustained serious injuries and was taking to the Luton and Dunstable Hospital but his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
PC Jagjheet Dillon said: “This is obviously a shocking incident but we’d like to reassure members of the public that we do believe it to be an isolated incident and have launched a full investigation.
“I’d urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to contact us immediately.”
