Woman, 18, attacked after Dunstable dog walkers argument

A young woman was threatened and assaulted by a man as she walked her dog in Dunstable.

The attack on the 18-year-old took place at the back of the Tesco store in Skimpot Road.

She was walking with her brother and pet dog when the incident happened at about 3.15pm on Monday, October 27.

The dog managed to slip its lead and ran off towards another dog, which was being walked by a man aged between 50 and 60.

He approached the victim and made several threats before pushing her and then punching her to the forehead. He then made off towards Dunstable Road.

The teenager’s brother called the police who attended the scene and searched the area, but the man was not found.

Det Sgt Martyn Hynes is investiugating the incident and is keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the assault or may have information about the attacker, who was white, 6ft 2ins tall, with grey hair.

He wore a brown hat, blue body warmer and jeans and was walking a brown cocker spaniel.
