Police are studying CCTV images as they investigate an assault on a 13-year-old girl in The Quadrant shopping centre in Dunstable.

The girl was attacked by two adults some time between 8.30pm and 9pm on Friday October 17.

The victim was riding her bike in the centre when she was approached by a fellow school pupil, who she had previously had a dispute with, and a woman.

After grabbing the girl by both arms, the woman made a number of threats. A few moments later, a man arrived in a car, approached the victim and seized her in a headlock causing injury to her neck.

The youngster was able to escape and made her way home before the police were called.

She told police the woman was white, aged 35 to 40, and had dark brown hair with a side fringe. She was wearing an Adidas top, skinny jeans and trainers and had “muscular legs”.

The man was white, aged about 40, 5ft 11ins tall, slim and clean shaven. He was wearing a black beanie hat and a long-sleeved training top which was skin tight. He arrived in a small blue car – possibly a Renault.

PC Lee-Anne Pogson, who is investigating the incident, is keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed the assault taking place.

She is particularly keen to hear from a group of people who were spotted on CCTV all watching what was believed to have been the incident.

Contact PC Pogson, in confidence, at Beds Police on 101 or text information to 07786 200011. You can also call independent crime fighting charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
