Residents celebrated Pride In Dunstable day on Friday, September 26.

It was organised by Central Bedfordshire’s Community Safety Partnership and gave the public and businesses the chance to talk about local issues and find out more about getting involved in their community.

It took place at Asda, Ashton Square and Downside, with representatives from the council offering advice on a number of different subjects.

Councillor Brian Spurr said: “The Pride in Dunstable day was a great opportunity for people to come down, find out lots of information from a wide range of organisations and get help they may not have realised was available - and they did just that.”

Bedfordshire Police and Fire Service were at the market, in Ashton Square, they offered crime prevention and fire safety advice to shoppers.

Fostering and Adoption, Health Watch, Road Safety, Trading Standards and Adult Social Care teams spoke to residents about the services they provide.

Councillor Spurr added: “Engaging with communities across Central Bedfordshire is very important to the Community Safety Partnership. It offers us the chance to get information to the public, and also for them to raise issues with the council.
