Back even bigger and better than ever is the second annual Dunstable Business and Community Awards.

After a successful launch in 2012 which saw businesses and unsung heroes receive accolades in front of more than 250 people, the awards will this year be held at the Dunstable Conference Centre, with a glittering celebratory dinner on November 14.

Entries are now open with people getting the chance to nominate awards for student of the year, teacher, carer, volunteer, young hero, sports achievement and young hero in the community categories, and in the business section there is the business of the year, new business, green business, retailer, apprentice, hospitality venue and community business of the year.

Katey Horne for Networking at Dunstable, which is organising the event, is now calling on people to get nominating. “We are certain we will be offering something bigger and better in 2013 with a change in entry forms to make it easier for people to enter and our new improved website.”

Among last year’s winners were young hero of the year Becky Griffin and business of the year Commonfield Services Ltd.

Nominations are already flooding in but you can find out more and nominate your unsung hero or favourite business at www.dunstableawards.co.uk.

Closing date for entries is October 4, 2013 so there is plenty of time to make sure you honour someone you admire.
