One of Dunstable toddler Lilly Macglashan’s biggest supporters will run the Brighton Marathon next month to raise funds fo r her vital cancer treatment.
Kevin Cutler will be joined by childhood friend Paul Farmer when he tackles the 26-mile race on April 14.
Kevin, 33, said: “Lilly and her fighting spirit have motiovated us no end and our training has gone so well.
“Myself and Paul cannot wait to get to Brighton and raise lots of funds. I will not stop fundraising for Lilly she is a truly inspiring little girl.”
Paul, 35, represented England at cross-country running and has a half-marathon personal best of 1hour 6mins, but this will be his first marathon.
Kevin has been organising events in honour of Lilly since 2011, including last month’s Night of Wrestling that raised £840 to go towards essential treatment.
Three-year-old Lilly was diagnosed with childhood cancer neuroblastoma shortly after her birth.
To improve her chances of survival, Lilly began having treatment at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital in New York.
Lilly’s treatment has been made possible by the efforts of people like Kevin, as the medical costs stand at around one million pounds so far.
