As part of their ongoing dedication to celebrating the achievements of the local community Tiddenfoot and Dunstable leisure centres have launched ‘Harpers Heroes’, an award scheme to honour those in the community who have reached major fitness goals or have impressed everyone with their dedication and skill.
Winners from the Central Bedfordshire area will be named in nine categories: Sport: celebrating achievements of sports teams within our facilities, Shape: celebrating a member’s weight loss achievement, Health: celebrating achievement of a health related goal, and Fitness: celebrating a fitness related achievement. Furthermore, awards will be given to the Coach Of The Year, Personal Trainer/Fitness Professional Of The Year and Harpers Team Of The Year. Finally, a Lifetime Achievement Award and a Hero Award for overall achievement will be presented.
The local community is being encouraged to nominate members, customers and staff in the different categories by visiting www.facebook.com/harpersfitness, www.twitter.com/harpersfitness or by emailing heroes@manifestcomms.co.uk. The deadline for entries is April 30, and regional winners will be included in a national shortlist. Winners will be able to choose from a range of high street vouchers to products such as iPads and televisions.
James Naylor, Contract Manager at the leisure centres, said: “We are all very excited to be launching Harpers Heroes, we have some wonderful members and customers at our leisure centres who are an inspiration to us all, and it will be fantastic to honour them by naming them a ‘Harpers Hero’.”
