A burglar was chased out of a house in Dunstable after entering a bedroom and waking his victim in the early hours of Monday morning (January 28).

The 44-year-old victim was woken from her sleep in her Printers Way home at about 12.30am, before screaming at the intruder and chasing him down the stairs.

The offender then threatened the victim before fleeing out of the front door, having stolen a laptop.

The victim instantly notified police, who sent out a helicopter and dog handling unit to scour the area for the man, but to no avail.

The offender is described as a white male in his early 20s, about 5ft 6ins. He was wearing a light coloured hooded top and blue jeans.

Det Con Surfaz Hussain, investigating, said: “This was a very upsetting experience for the victim who has been left extremely shaken by the burglary.

“We want to find the offender as quickly as possible and stop him from causing anymore misery to residents in the town.”

If you have information, call Beds Police on 101 or DC Hussain on 01582 394435.
